I like the simplicity of it. It does what it goes for rather well, and I don't have much of note. I'd maybe change some instruments, like the bell instrument at 1:00 I feel like has a bit too much of a quality of sound difference to the rest of the instruments. Other than that, It's pretty alright. (When I'm writing this it's already monday so I did not keep up to my promise. I'm sorry for that, I'll try to finish the other two reviews in the following days, especially since today is free from school)

I really like the piano during the beginning, though I think it's too fast when compared to the drums when these come into the frame. Overall the beginning is rather confusing, though I can see what you were going for (At least I think). Until the 20 second mark, I'd maybe create a much more sparse drum pattern but also a more powerful one to make up for the speedy piano. Something like in My Plague or Eyeless (both by slipknot. Can't find the exact song I was thinking of, it might have been from rammstein or some different group, but you should get the picture by either of these two, also I don't mean changing the style completely, just making it so the feet pedals sound in a similar way). Moving onward, I really like the motif the bass has in the first two beats that get's repeated throughout the whole thing. The chords are really nice, and the melody works really nicely with them too. I love the structure, of how basically the two different main instruments kind of dance with each other, one time the first making a step, then the second one, and sometimes even both at once. I don't have much to say until the two minute mark other than I think it sounds great. I'm curious if the swing on the drums with the straight arpeggios was on purpose, because it does sound kind of out of place and in place at the same time considering the dance thing. I personally find it weird and not executed that well, but I can see why you'd do that. I like the quiet section, and the transition to and from it. The temporary key changes around the 3 minute mark are really fun. And that touhou ass trumpet at the end is amazing.

By the description, do you generally mean that you prefer to create sounds rather to use the ones someone already created? If so I can kind of understand you.
I love the bass in here, it's really groovy and definitely helps the mood. I think the ride cymbals are a bit too loud and out of place, maybe I'd try to go with a more hard and certain sounding cymbal, but it's not that much of a deal. I think the snares also are a bit too loud, which definitely is hearable the most around the one minute and a half minute mark. I also like the chords here. And the spicing up in the melody around 2:10. Overall I quite like it, even though simple it does it's job done, though it would be even better with a more worked on mixing, especially on the drum's audio leveling.

By sampling I mean like taking stuff from other tracks, as those feel like stealing.

Daft Punk is particularly bad with this in like one of their songs (Robot Rock).

Also agreed on the drums and stuff, it was kinda painful as this was meant to be BGM to a video I was making.

I think the songs works much better with the glitches, but it's still pretty good. On it's own without any glitches the section from 1:30 to about 1:40 sound really weird to me, like something's missing. Maybe a slow down before coming back to the main melody and then coming back with a bang could have worked well? I also definitely like the main melody, and think it'd work also in a more classical piece, like a piano solo at around 80bpm.

I really like how the arpeggios at the beginning mix with the drums, and the chords that these play also are nice on their own. I'd say there's a bit of too much of reverb put on the instrument introduced at 0:26, it sort of clashes with the rest, I'd maybe suggest turning it down a bit in volume, or reducing the reverb. There's a good progression when it comes to the stakes, with each of the instrument bringing in something of it's own to the mood. I think it was a good decision to add the glitches after the quietest section so far in the song. And these glitches are done pretty well as well, with my favourite one of them being right around the end. Overall I'd work a bit on the mixing but it's a fun song that definitely stood out in the collab.

Absolutely love how this one came out. Really like medleys as a whole, and this is definitely one of them.

I pretty much like all of the songs here, and while I don't think most of them are that good, I wouldn't call any of them less than decent. Valim_Garada for example is interesting in it's execution and the cowbell (I know it's not that but I forgot what the high pitched sound is called) also is a really cool addition in my eyes. I also really like the song at 11:13 with the electric guitar, has a lot of potential for a full on song. The mixing there isn't that good, and the middle section definitely could use some slow down, because it feels like too much is happening at once, but most of the stuff sounds already figured out. Also, is that your voice around the 20 minute mark? 26:51 reminds me of something from mega mind, which I'm playing in the middle of writing this review (the gameboy one to be precise, want to finish as much before summer ends, and I already did the castlevania trilogy this week). I still find it funny that Tekken 7 was my introduction to dubstep and house music, and every time I hear something like it I immediately think of that game, because of how stupidly long it's ost is (around 7-8 hours to sit through)

This sounds really cool. I love how you used the synths here. The chords also are really well put together, and the key change around 1:03 while I think should had more impact, as in, maybe a slow down and only then the change, I still think is rather good. I think this could be good to go as is, just with a few tempo changes around the bigger jumps in chords. I really liked it.

There's some choices I like and some I dislike in how they sound, and that could be all due to my ears being really sensitive to high pitch stuff. The main instrument is much louder than anything else in here, maybe excluding the drums, but I don't have any problems with them, they're fun, even though not anything exceptional, which they don't have to be to add onto the feel of the whole thing. I'd definitely turn down the volume of the main melody, at least in the first part before it reapers in the second. This might be a me issue, meaning not that accurate to how The Average Person™ would perceive this piece, but at least to me the overall volume and choices in instrumentation make it sound like screeching. It might sound good to others, even with it still being a bit too loud when compared to the rest, but I'm just trying to give off my perspective here. Other than that, It's really solid. My favourite part would be the transition around 1:45. Even though it doesn't sound that good to me, the melody still on itself in how it's written is good. It uses the main motif that it starts with and gradually evolves as the song goes on until the very end. I also like the pattern that the bass plays, it's funky. One last thing that this made me think of is, this would make a really cool jazz song with the way it's composed. Imagine the main melody being played by either a string instrument or a brass one, with the bass staying the same, and a more advanced drum pattern and a piano smashing the chords in a pattern that would fit with the drums, just a thought I had. Overall, while not something I'd listen to, and while with some mixing decisions that make it harder for me to listen to it at the least, I still wouldn't call it bad, not great either, but maybe somewhere in between.

This definitely sounds really cool for your second composition. I love the chords here, and the melody on the piano sound really nice. Regarding the drums however, I'd definitely change the pattern a bit. instead of (in quavers) X - - - O - - - X - - - O - - -, I'd maybe try something along the lines of X - - - - - O - X - - - - - O - X, and some pauses in the hit hat, maybe removing the fourth crotchet would sound better flowing. The effects on the piano sound quite beautiful, especially around the 1:10 mark. Other than that, I like it a decent bit.

edit: essentially, I believe a bossa nova drum pattern would fit this the best.

MauveDash responds:

Ooooo, that's not a bad idea! If I wasn't lazy I would have tried to change up the drums a little bit from the original.

I'll keep that pattern in mind though! Since I might be able to utilize it in the future.
